Our feature interview this week is the first half of our conversation with Emily Kwok, who won the 2007 Brazilian jiu-jitsu World Championship in the women’s middleweight division as a brown belt and will be receiving her black belt in jiu-jitsu in November from Ricardo Almeida. Emily began her combat sports career in boxing and sambo, and fell in love with jiu-jitsu shortly afterwards. Among other information, she will share her stories of training BJJ from Canada, the United States, and even for a year in Japan!
